Samuel John (alias George, alias Page) on 21 October 1749  at 3 o'clock in the night in the parish of St Mary, Cardigan burglariously entered the dwelling house of John Mathias with intent to steal (WALES 4/894/4).

Ordered Abel Gower, under-sheriff be paid £9.9.- for and towards the great expense he has been at in erecting a Gallows and executing one Samuel John, otherwise George otherwise Page a criminal sentenced to be hanged by the court of Great Sessions Quarter Session 12.7.50 .  He was ordered for execution on Saturday 19th May.
